If you’re passionate about beauty and looking to start an exciting career in the industry, our Level 1 Diploma in Beauty Therapy is the perfect first step.
This course provides a comprehensive introduction to the beauty sector, helping you gain essential practical skills and knowledge that employers look for. It will prepare you for entry-level roles in the beauty industry and open up progression opportunities, such as the Level 2 Diploma in Beauty Therapy.

At City of Wolverhampton College, we go beyond the standard curriculum by offering a range of enrichment opportunities. You’ll have the chance to train with experienced internal and external industry professionals, keeping you up to date with the latest trends and techniques. Plus, you can gain additional certificates in specialist areas such as gel polish, lash lifts, individual eyelash extensions, ear piercing, nail extensions, and more. This will give you an extra edge as you start your journey into the world of beauty.
Work Experience
As part of the course, you will be required to complete a minimum of 30 hours of work experience.
Entry Requirements:
To access this course, you are required to:
* If you have not yet achieved a grade 4/C in English and maths, you will be required to attend lessons in these subjects alongside your Beauty qualification – this is a mandatory part of the course. If you already hold a grade 4/C (or above) in English and maths, you will not need to attend maths and English lessons. However, you will be expected to complete directed study work packs during this time to ensure you meet the required study hours – this is also mandatory.

During this course you will learn a variety of hands-on skills, depending on the areas you choose, including:
In addition, if you are aged 16-19 and have not achieved a Grade 4 in English and/or maths you will required to attend classes for the relevant subject as part of your course.
