Is this course right for me?

Due to high demand for our 2025/2026 intake, this course is now approaching capacity. If you’re still interested in joining us, please submit an application and we’ll be in touch to discuss your available options.

If you want to improve your creative hairdressing skills and learn the techniques used by professionals, this is the course that will cut it for you.

Under the supervision of our highly inspirational and experienced staff you will learn a range of creative cutting, colouring and styling techniques and develop your skills by working with real clients in our industry-standard professional training academy in the city centre.

To enhance your learning, you will also get chance to take part in enrichment weeks during which you will be able to learn new techniques, take part in competitions, and complete additional short courses in areas that would be useful to you in the industry, such as hair extensions, wedding hair, creative styling, balayage and ear piercing.

You will also complete 30 hours of work experience in a salon and attend lessons to improve your English and maths (or use the time for directed study if you already have Grade 4 or above).

Please note: you will be expected to arrange the work experience placement yourself and will also be required to purchase your own hairdressing kit, costing approximately £180, as well as a college-braded uniform costing approximately £50 – order forms will be provided before the start of the course and financial support may be available to help with these costs.
