This course is ideal for setters, process engineers, technicians, and multi-skilled engineers who want to develop advanced skills in configuring and optimising the blown film manufacturing process. It’s designed for those with existing knowledge or experience in plastics processing — demonstrated through the BFT2 assessment, an NVQ Level 2 qualification, or a pre-course questionnaire score of 70% or above. Candidates must be able to demonstrate existing knowledge levels through either passing the BFT2 end of course assessment or have achieved an NVQ Level 2 or completed our pre-course questionnaire and achieved a score of 70% or above.

Polymer Processing Certificate Part 3 Material covered has been aligned to the content of an NVQ at Level 3 and can be used as underpinning knowledge towards achieving the award, if so desired.
How will I be assessed?
Individual candidate knowledge levels are assessed at the end of the training programme and a management report is provided to help identify further training requirements or career progression possibilities. This is a PTIC assessment of knowledge for the blown film process but candidates can then progress towards achievement of their PTIC Approved Technicians Award by successfully completing a further practical assessment
