Futures Foundation Learning - City of Wolverhampton College

Futures Foundation Learning

The Futures Programme is aimed at young people with inclusion needs or and/or an Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP).

The programme is tailored to each young person’s individual requirements and aims to enhance their life skills and develop their abilities to help them move towards living as independently as possible.

Before starting college, staff from the SEND team will meet with the young person and their parents/carers to assess their current level of ability and achievements, discuss their learning needs and hopes for the future and set up their individual educational package.

For those seeking employment, the department has a range of pathways which will enable students to advance to an appropriate placement to support them to progress to their longer-term goals.

There is a range of specialised programmes available and staff from the SEND team will work directly with the young person and their parents/carers to ensue the programme meets their individual needs.

The SEND team also offers information, advice and guidance on learning support needs to parents/carers and professionals.

Some of our Futures students recently appeared on ITV News Central talking about how a project with the Canal & River Trust is helping to improve their confidence and team working skills.
