Employer Feedback

What began as a strategic collaboration has blossomed into something far more meaningful, a true testament to what can happen when businesses, educational institutions, and government agencies come together with genuine purpose. Through the Seasonal Jobs Initiative, we supported individuals who had been out of work for many reasons into real seasonal roles, many of whom are now thriving in full-time positions.”

For individuals, it was a profound journey, people of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds came together in a space that celebrated the rich diversity of Wolverhampton. For employers, it wasn’t just about filling vacancies; it was about welcoming new team members who brought fresh energy, resilience, and a strong sense of community to their stores.

Bruno Coppola – Wulfrun Regional Shopping Centre Manager

The Seasonal Swap was a fantastic opportunity to connect external providers and offer Black Country residents the chance to return to work in Wolverhampton during the golden Christmas period. The response was overwhelming—we ran three back-to-back information sessions just to meet demand, with every attendee signing up on the day thanks to Bruno Coppola’s warm and inspirational welcome.”

“Candidates took part in a bespoke four-week customer service course at City of Wolverhampton College, expertly developed by the Employability Team to meet retailer recruitment needs. Employers provided digital platforms and job crib sheets to support the transition into work, and the feedback has been heart-warming, many lives have been changed, and there’s a strong desire to grow this initiative even further next year.
