If yes, then this course is right for you! The Level 3 provides a pathway to understand assessment and if required, qualify as an assessor. Learners who wish to achieve these units could be assessing competence or non-competence based learning, knowledge or skills.

The minimum age for learners is 18 years old
Have a C in GCSE or level 4 or equivalent
Have agreed to two learners/ trainees that you would be assessing during the practical assessment
Hold a qualification above the level you will be assessing. e.g. level 2 if you will be assessing level 1 trainees/learners /qualification

During this course you will study:

The principles and practices of assessment
How to assess vocational skills, knowledge and understanding

By studying this course you will:

Develop your understanding of assessment principles and current practices
Learn how to apply appropriate assessment methods
Develop an appreciation of how professional values impact on working in your area
Develop your confidence in dealing with assessment of learners and trainees
Understand how assessment applies in your vocational sector
Improve your own vocational skills for example, an effective planned approach and use of reflective practice
Gain valuable team working and communication skills by taking part in group activities online and in college

This is an assignment based course so there are no exams. You will be continually assessed throughout the programme. There are several components to the assessment:

Written assignment or professional discussion
Observation of performance in the work environment
Examining products of work
Questioning the learner

Trainer and assessor in work based learning
Complete further qualifications in this field
