T Levels are an alternative to A-levels or an apprenticeship and are designed with employers to give you the skills that the industry needs and the qualities they look for when taking on new staff.

This T Level  in Construction Management focuses on design, surveying and planning so, if you want a career in the industry focussing on these specialisms, this is the course for you! 

As part of the programme you will complete an indepth work experience placement of at least 45 days - enabling you to put the skills and knowledge you have gained on the course into practice in the workplace - as well as improve your Englishs and math skills.

To access this course you are required to have:

  • Level 2 qualification in a relevant subject, e.g. Construction and the Built Environment
  • Five GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English, maths and science
  • A good attitude to education and a commitment to the two-year course

 

The content of this course is split into core components and the occupational specialism components.

  • Verifying the delivery of the built environment

Successful completion of the course will enable you to progress to:

  • A career in the construction sector, with a focus on surveying and design in roles such as design technician, surveying technician, architectural technician or construction design coordinator
  • Construction Apprenticeship
  • Higher National Certificate (HNC) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in construction
  • Construction degree programme such as Construction Management, Construction Surveying, Design and Architecture.

 

You will learn your skills in our purpose-built construction centre which has dedicated workshops for individual trades and is fitted out with industry-standard equipment so you will gain experience of using the same kit as you will when working in the industry in the future.

You will be taught by tutors with professional experience of working in the industry and will also benefit from taking part in enrichment activities to enhance your learning - such as hearing from guest speakers or taking part in trade competitions and skills tests.

As part of the course you will complete an in-depth work experience placement in a relevant industry area and may also have the opportunity to gain work experience abroad through the Turing study programme.
