If you have completed your engineering apprenticeship and want to progress further in your career, are working as an engineering operative and want to improve your skills, or want to move up the career ladder into a supervisory or management role in the industry, an HNC is a great qualification to have. Â
The HNC is mainly a theory-led classroom-based theory course which will give you the skills, knowledge and confidence to achieve your ambition or to move on to further study such as an HND or university degree.

*For applicants without level 3 maths, the college offers a part-time Bridging Maths for HNC course which must be completed prior to acceptance to the HNC course.Â

During the HNC qualification you will benefit from the use of their engineering facilities and learning resources,and will also benefit from facilities at the college's own Higher Education Centre.Â
Tutors on the course are all qualified engineers - at degree level or above - have extensive experience of working in the industry and throughout the course you will have the opportunity to take part in a range of additional activities to enhance your learning such as industry visits, hearing from inspirational speakers.Â
Our state-of-the-art engineering workshops are equipped with a range of industry-standard equipment including millers, lathes, CNC tooling and laser cutters, as well as fabrication and welding equipment such as Tig, Mig and Arc welders and CAD suites.Â
