If you want to work in the engineering industry with a special interest in manufacturing, processing and control, this new T Level qualification is the ideal way to kick off your future career.
T Levels are the equivalent of three A levels and re designed in conjunction with employers so you can be sure that you will be learning the skills that the industry needs which will set you ahead of the competition when you're applying for jobs in the sector in the future.
In the first year of the course you will cover a range of core modules designed to give you a broad range of knowledge and skills in the engineering industry.
In the second year you will focus on occupational specialisms to enable you to develop specific skills in engineering processes and procedures, as well as plan, perform and evaluate your work while using a range of materials, methods and techniques.
As part of the course you will also complete an industry work experience placement of at least 45 days. This will give you a taste of what working in the industry is like, as well as the opportunity to work alongside experienced colleagues and put the skills you have learnt on your course into practice in the workplace - all of which will look great on your CV and impress employers when you are applying for jobs in the future.
To access this course you are required to have:
· Five GCSEs at grade 4/5 or above including English, maths, and science
· Interview/assessment with an admissions tutor to determine your interest and suitability for the course
In addition, you will be required to commit to undertaking a 45-day work experience placement and, as part of the process, will be required to attend an interview with an industry employer.
In the first year of the course you will study a range of core modules and in the second year will focus on occupational specialisms.

By studying this course, you will:

Throughout the course you will be assessed in the following ways:
· Practical assessment in each module
· Observations
· Employer-set project
· Two externally-set exams
Successful completion of the course will enable you to progress to:
· Higher technical qualification (ie HNC or HND)
· Degree apprenticeship
· Undergraduate degree in a relevant subject
· Employment in the industry
You will learn your skills in the college's brand new purpose-built Advanced Technology and Automotive Centre which is due to open at the Wellington Road campus, in Bilston, in September 2024.
The centre will have dedicated engineering workshops equipped with industry-standard equipment including robots, 3D printers, laser cutters, lathes and millers and a specialist CAD room featuringAutoCAD and SolidWorks software
You will be taught by experienced tutors with professional experience of working in the industry and throughout the course will have the opportunity to take part in a range of additional activities to enhance your learning such as industry visits, hearing from inspirational speakers or taking part in trade competitions and skills tests.
